Golden Sunshine Puree: Carrot, Apple & Avocado Recipe for Babies (6+ Months)
This vibrant, silky-smooth puree is the perfect first food for babies (6+ months). It’s naturally sweet, packed with Beta-Carotene and Vitamin C, and features a "secret" healthy fat for brain development.
Ingredients:
1 Medium Organic Carrot: Peeled and chopped into small discs.
1 Sweet Apple (Gala or Golden Delicious): Peeled, cored, and sliced.
1/4 Ripe Avocado: The "secret" ingredient for a creamy texture and healthy Omega-3s.
Liquid for Consistency: Breast milk, formula, or the leftover steaming water.
Method:
Steam the Veggies: Place the carrot discs in a steamer basket over boiling water. Steam for about 10–12 minutes until tender. Add the apple slices halfway through (they only need about 5–6 minutes to soften).
Combine:
Transfer the softened carrots and apples into a high-speed blender. Scoop in the fresh avocado flesh.
Blend to Perfection:
Add a splash of your chosen liquid. Blend until the mixture is completely smooth and free of any lumps.
Adjust Texture:
For early stages of weaning, add more liquid to achieve a runny, "heavy cream" consistency. As your baby grows, you can leave it slightly thicker.
Serve & Store:
Serve warm (always test the temperature on your wrist first!).
The Mama Muse Pro-Tips:
Batch Cooking: This puree freezes beautifully. Pour leftovers into silicone ice cube trays. Once frozen, pop the cubes into a labeled bag. They stay fresh for up to 1 month.
Aesthetic Serving: Serve in a minimalist silicone bowl in "Sand" or "Sage" tones. It makes the golden orange color of the puree pop for your morning "starting solids" photos.
